Welcome to Information Source
on Holistic Health

The principles of holistic heath are:

Balance

Health is about balancing the energy of the mind, body and spirit. Practicing holistic health tells you that illness is the result of imbalance. To overcome your illness and become healthy again, balance needs to be restored.

Whole Person

Health addresses the whole person, rather than a specific illness or condition. You need to understand and address a specific condition, which means working with the whole person - mind, body, spirit and emotions, not just a part of him/her.

Healing Capacity

We are our own healers. Each person contains the potential to heal themselves - physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Specialists in medicine, remedies, surgeries, bodywork, counseling, etc., can help us because they trigger changes that we make in our body and soul. There are conscious and unconscious aspect to our own healing.

Symptoms

We learn about our imbalance and illness from our symptoms. If we try to make symptoms go away to be more comfortable and functional, we should pay attention to what our body and emotions are telling us. If we cover up our symptoms without taking specific notice of them, we miss an opportunity to take part in deeper healing.

Prevention

The focus of holistic health and healing is on prevention, not just getting rid of difficult and painful symptoms. When addressing the sources and imbalances which create our health problems, we can prevent the problems from recurring or lessen their effects on our health.
